Communications Director

Communication is essential in any organization in order to effectively convey information.  Communication is expressed through multiple channels and platforms, i.e. face-to-face communication (PCRID General Meetings and PCRID Annual Conference), e-mails, social media, and more.  In this way, information is reached out to PCRID members to utilize for their own personal and professional benefit within the field of interpreting.  As a subchapter of RID, it is essential that we keep members informed at a national and local level.  Therefore, PCRID has tasked the Communications Director with this duty.

Lisette Madalena; NIC Advanced, took over as Communications Director in March 2011. Lisette has been interpreting professionally for over 6 years and currently works as a freelance interpreter in the DC metropolitan area. Lisette holds a masters degree in Professional Studies, focusing on Deaf Studies and Communication Technology.  She also holds a bachelors degree in American Sign Language and English Interpretation, both from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT/NTID).

As PCRID's Communications Director, Lisette Madalena, is responsible for streamlining communications between the board, committees, and its members. Vital information in regards to PCRID and local events, job announcements, workshop opportunities, and so much more will be conveyed to the membership via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter. She is also responsible for managing PCRID Social Networking sites, Facebook and Twitter. Vice Communications Director

As PCRID's Vice Communications Director, (member) would be responsible for managing and posting daily on PCRID's Social Networking sites; Facebook and Twitter. The Vice Communiations Director assists the Communications Director for other communication activities and is available to answer any questions you may have in regard to any communications matter.
